HISTORY

In 1986, Grace Lutheran Church was founded as a mission church to northeast Albuquerque.  The new Narthex and Sanctuary were built in 1998, and the original Sanctuary was converted to a Fellowship Hall.  The first floor of the Education Wing was completed in 2001, with four classrooms and an office.  The Lambs of Grace Preschool was founded in 2007.  This is a multi-day program that serves the Northeast Heights as an outreach and  teaching program.  Most recently, in 2016 the second floor of the education wing was completed.

Grace has been blessed with several former and current members entering the seminaries of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod to further spread God’s word.  Four sons of our congregation have become pastors, and one daughter has become a deaconess.  In 2016 we have one son studying to become a pastor.

From 2006-2009, grace participated in the Vicar program, and supported three seminary students, each for a period of one year as part of their vicarage.  The vicars were mentored by Pastor Graff and assisted him with Sunday worship, teaching Bible study classes, and working with our Youth Group.   In 2016 we have a member of our congregation enrolled in the Specific Ministry Program and is serving our congregation as a vicar.
